What uses more electricity, 42'inch LCD TV or a desktop normal?
My mother always Braggs on high-cost projects electricity and blames me because I spend much time on your PC. My excuse though, is to say that the TV consumes more electricity than the computer itself (i dont know if its right, but who cares as long as they are punished i dont ...), which settles a bit down a little, but I'm not sure if IAM right here. So what does the use of electricity more PCs or 42-inch LCD TV?
Well, firstly there is no standard TV or PC ... consumption energy depends on the brand / model and what extras are included on the PC. The first link shows the power requirements for a wide range of HDTVs. Between 130 and 220 watts seems to be the range of 42 "model. PCs are much more variable, but it is unlikely that a normal PC it would attract more than 150-200 watts, even under heavy load. See 2nd link. However, the monitor may be the murderer, since an LCD monitor (or CRT model) can easily draw 100 watts or more. My guess is the TV and PC are not very different in energy consumption per hour of use ... certainly not enough, either to be ignored ... that although the power does not allow total consumed. For example, if you have the computer in 6 hours and television by his mother is in 2 hours ... you may be using 2x, 3x power. Conclusion ... your mother is right ... consumption is not negligible and if you win more "on time" could be the biggest consumer. Now another point ... and not pay the bills and money is clearly a problem for your mother may be able to calm the waters, if you give something to Bill's house elctrical. You should be able to find some kind $ 5/month Working ... and then you can breathe easy because you do not mind.
