Do you have a 600Hz Plasma TV 1080p refers to a 200 Hz LCD 1080p?
I'm watching this tv: http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-50PS3000-50-inch-Widescreen-Freeview/dp/B001UHMT88/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1260728353&sr=1- 1 I would like to know if its worth buying because it has contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1, 600Hz and 1080p. For all that on an LCD screen must spend more. So basically I'm asking is, do all these LCD with 200Hz to 600Hz technology, even in a plasma? Or is 600Hz plasma from LG is definitely 400Hz solid soft? Quick answers would be great as I need one before Christmas! Thanks
What kind of do, but not exactly. Technologies work differently. LCDs have slow response times, typically 4ms - 8ms. This results in motion blur (ghost track) images in rapid motion. To compensate, manufacturers developed faster refresh rates (based on 50Hz/60Hz one). Refresh rate indicates the number of times an image is altered or updated before displaying on the screen. These higher refresh rates or interpolate or duplicating frames in order to a supplier for images sharper. Plasma actually has a response time as 0.001ms, its basically instant as CRT / tube or DLP sets. So the screen can be updated immediately. However, the sub-field motion unit breaks the connection as points. 600Hz and the sub-field motion unit is talking about the possibility of updating the points. As his power over very small areas update the display very quickly (good for fast action) instead of the entire screen (frequency of update). As its type in the same ballpark but not exactly the same, the technologies that make a different job. The most important thing to take that is that the plasma motion replay of fast near perfection. Utmost LCD technology with 100 Hz or 200 Hz, but still can not quite match plasma CRT / tube, and / or DLP in that front. Still, can suffer from motion blur, or just strangers in search of movement, sometimes. But I think people just get used to LCD's proposal at the bottom (for those who decide they must go LCD). A 600Hz Plasma "is not 400Hz" softer, its simply more strong in the playback.
